Cancer or Heart Attack & Stroke Coverage
Life Insurance is a chunk of cash if you die, but what if you experience a medical tragedy, and with answered prayers, you SURVIVE?
"I wish this heart attack had just killed me, I can't afford to survive." One of the first things my mom said to me, tears streaming down her cheeks, after surviving her massive heart attack and being in and out of I.C.U. for about 7 months in 2018. She went from being a Caregiver and C.N.A., to needing a caregiver herself and never working again. We were waiting quite sometime for her medical things to be updated, disability to be approved, authorizations for medical equipment like oxygen machine and wheelchair.... IT WAS BRUTAL! If you've ever been through it for a loved one, you understand the toll it takes. It took family chipping in to cover costs of living for MONTHS on end, taking turns picking up medications, and taking time off work to attend medical appointments, which there was a TON of! Don't get me wrong, I pretty much feel like that's the epitome of FAMILY, but with everyone working paycheck to paycheck, none of us could really afford to pitch in like Mom really needed. But we managed to get her back to decent health and quality of life within a few years.
I'm sure you're wondering what a Cancer or Heart Attack & Stroke policy covers and how it would help?? Keep reading, or just click the link in the banner above to schedule a time to talk to a state licensed coordinator. If you're looking to learn more about a more broad range of coverage options, say for long-term or temporary asset protection and financial security, you should absolutely check out our info on Whole Life and Term Life in the Insurance Menu at the top right of this screen.
Still here? Perfect! Okay, let's get back to the moral of the Mom story "How can you prepare for the unexpected tragedy that could be around ANY corner?" And, I'm not going to harp on improving diet and exercise, decreasing stress, yada yada yada, WE ALL KNOW ABOUT IMPROVING OUR LIFESTYLE FOR BETTER HEALTH. I'm here to talk about available options that most people don't even know about. Sure, we all have a grasp on the basics and know what the words "Cancer" and "Heart Attack or Stroke" mean, but most people believe there's only something available to pay out if you die because of it, right? But what else is there to know? Does a person have to pass away from it? Nope, once you're diagnosed, it pays out, and I must say, it pays out pretty quickly. Are there stipulations, restrictions, LIMITATIONS? Yeah, if you want the Cancer Insurance, you can't have current cancer. Likewise with the Heart Attack and Stroke, however obviously those are events, so "Current" is momentary, so they do limit medical history if you'd had either within the last 3 or so years. Can it be accessed or used BEFORE you die? Well yeah, you don't have to die for this to payout. Does it end once I've gotten a payout? Not necessarily, often times they have a "Recurring Diagnosis" option that allows for a percentage of original amount to be paid out, should you experience another heart attack or stroke. Now, the list of questions can go on for DAYS, but your best bet is to just schedule a time to talk to a licensed coordinator. We understand completely how frustrating sorting through all the available options and find print can be, and rest assured, WE GOT YOU! See, we DID in fact go through the courses and trainings to know which options work best (and HOW they work) to help meet your specific end goals. And then we got licensed in each individual state, as a promise to work with your best interest in mind. We can certainly discuss the benefits of stand alone Cancer or Heart Attack & Stroke policies versus the option to add these payouts as Living Benefits to a Whole or Term policy, so you're completely covered.
Here are some key takeaways to help you decide if having protection in the event of a Cancer, Heart Attack, or Stroke diagnosis is a good fit for you and your family.
Cancer & Heart Attack/Stroke is for SURVIVORS:
Cancer protection policy pays out upon receiving a Cancer Diagnosis.
Heart Attack/Stroke protection pays out upon having a Heart Attack or Stroke.
A Recurrence Benefit can be added, to ensure protection for a subsequent Heart Attack or Stroke.
Terminal, Critical, Chronic Illness Benefits can be added benefits to a standard Life policy, and will reduce the death benefit by the amount of the payout for illness.
Level Monthly Payments won't increase later, this is a common theme here...
Level Coverage Amounts (up to $100,000) won't decrease later, unless it's a subsequent event which pays a percentage of the original payout amount.
Medical Exams Are Not Required, no Dr's, lab work, or little cups to fill, just an electronic medical history check.
